November 15th. 2007 - Mark Radford of Nottinghamshire - "After spending many years walking your routes in the Peak District I've noticed how busy the National Park is becoming over the last few years and the need for solitude in the hills becoming less.
So after completing all your walks in the new Long Circular Walks in the Peak District - Vol 5 in March 2007, I decided to explore other arteas so over the following months completed all the routes in "Walks Around Glossop" - a hidden gem of an area. And walks in The Amber Valley - again very good walking away from the crowds.
Then one day I came across "Walks along the Chesterfield canal" in a bookshop in Bakewell. So bought it with trying canal walking for a change from the hills. After completing all twenty routes, all I can say is that I am hooked. All walks were completed from 10th. October to 15th. November 2007.
There were many highlights along the way but for me was a bright sunny Sunday walking the Shireoaks and Thorpe Salvin section and only meeting one other person. So thank you John for doing these books - Cromford Canal and the Grantham Canal are the next planned walks." Mark Radford.
"I have now managed to complete 40 of your excellent walks, including the Dark Peak Challenge four times. The 30 walk Shield occupies pride of place on my mantle piece. Have you considered creating a 50 Walk Award? All the best." Andy of York - August 14th. 2007.
