John Merrill's classic walk - and first - down the limestone dales of the Peak District, starting from Castleston. The route takes you through twenty limestone dales to Dovedale and Thorpe in the south. The walk is a challenge yo complete within 24 hours - red badge - or 48 hours - green badge. Camp sites, hostels and more than ten inns lie along the route, plus tearooms, while passing through stunning scenery. Since 1969, when it was originated, more than 62,000 people have walked the route and raised more than £125,000 for charity.
