Circular route from Matlock around the endge of the Peak District National park. The route keeps to the highest and most rugged parts as it weaves its way from Matlock across the limestone plateau to Dovedale. Here it heads north to the Roaches and Shining Tor. The northern end traverses Chinley Church before crossing the southern edge of Kinder Scout to Ladybower reservoir. The eastern side follows the whole Gristone Edge system from Stanage to Beeley before descending to the River Derwent and back to Matlock. A hard six day walk involving 10,000 feet of ascent but one that that has numerous inns, camp sites and accomodation along the way.
The succesful can get a special embroidered badge and signed completion certificate.
