The route crosses the Peak District from the start of the Pennine Way at Edale, to Ilam in the south. On the way you traverse the weath of scenic splendour of the area and link together the five principal rivers of - Noe, Derwent, Wye, Dove and Manifold. It is a challenge to walk it in a day - about 14 hours - but it is best walked in two or even four days. There are numerous campsites, hostels and accomodation en route together with more than a dozen inn. The succesful can get a special embroidered badge and signed completion certificate.
