ABOUT THIS BOOK - Ordinary, everyday folk who lived and died years ago aren’t generally written about by writers and historians and normally little is known about them unless they were famous, infamous or members of one’s own family. At some time or another we have all walked through a graveyard and been intrigued by names on headstones and wondered what these persons were like and how life must have been when they were alive.
The stories in this book are about people such as these. They are stories of everyday folk who lived their ordinary lives in difficult times or were colourful characters dealing with problems in their own way. Their stories are fascinating and were a joy to research and write.
This book then celebrates some of these ordinary folk, their lives and their exploits.
