Wollaton Hall began life as a luxurious family home byult by Francis Willouighby. Its connection with natural history began with the work of his great grandson, also named Frances, whose tavels and discoveriews caused him to be seen as a pioneer of modern natural history.In recent times the hall has embarked on a transition from stately home to Natural History Museum and today stands as a tribut to Francis the naturalist, working as a centre for study and conservation of wildlife.
The book describes the history of the house and parkland that surround it with its herd of deer.
