SHORT CIRCULAR WALKS ON THE NEW RIVER & South-East Hertfordshire

Ten circular walks between 6 and 10 miles long exploring fully the Hertfordshire countryside between Enfield and Hertford. The area is rich in attractive woodland and pictureque villages, where the Roman Road - Ermine Street - goes through. Meandering through is the historic and unique New River, which brought water to London, since the early 17th. century. It may not be a hilly landscape, but to many the quiet paths and countryside sights will come as a surprise being so close to London suburbs. Set off and see for yourself and explore this fascinating area.
Walks based on - Forty Hall & Cheshunt, Whitewebbs and Crews Hill, Wormley Wood and Geoffs Oak, Brickenden, Wormleybury, Hertford Heath, Haileybury, and Great Amwell.
The final walk explores the New River from Forty Hill to Islington.
