In medieval times whien Hythe was a Cinque Port, European Pilgrimes walked or rode from here along the Roman Road - Stone Street - th Thomas Becket's shrine at Canterbury. This 25 mile pilgrim route's walk traverses the landscape they passed through, passing several historical church's in the quiet Kent countryside. You pass Saltwood Castle where the four murderous knights set off to do their mistaken dead and see the finest ossary in England. The walk has been extended to include Folkestone, where the first English Nunnery was established in the 7th. century. It is a pilgrimage of quiet solitude griving time for reflection, mediation, and enjoying the beauty of nature.
