Sandwiched between the western side of the Peak District National Park and the suburbs of Manchester and Stockport, the Glossop area has delightful walking in both Derbyshire and Cheshire. Much of the area is moorland and many of these walks - ten walks 5 to 10 miles long - lead you, on good paths into these quiet places, where only the cry of curlew or startled cry of a red grouse break the silence.
