SHORT CIRCULAR WALKS

Twelve circular walks - 3 to 10 miles long - throughout Derbyshire, exploring the sites of "Lost Villages". The villages disappeared for a variety of reasons - climatic change, sheep clearences, Monastic clearences, wealthy landlords who didn't want to see their village from their hall! Detailed maps, sketches and history notes help to make this a vary different walk in Derbyshire, seeing at first hand where history took place.
Each walk starts from a car park, has detailed instructions, map, history notes and includes an inn on the way.
Walks include - Birchen & Gardoms Edge; Hardwick; Conksbury & Nether Haddon; Wormhill; Uppertown, Birchover; Ballidon; Dale and Boyah Grange; Markeaton & Mackworth; Marston Montgomery; Mercaston; Etwall and Ashe; Twyford & Potluck; and Hoon and Marston on Dove.
