John Merrill's Epping Forest Challenge Walk - 21 miles - is a delightul walk around Epping Forest, with vantage points over Essex, Herfordshire and London. Between 7 and 8 hours are needed to walk the route, across dragonfly meadows, over small hills, past places associated with Queen Boadicea, through beech and oak forest where deer and fox's roam, and beside a London bound navigation. The walk starts and ends at the historic Waltham Abbey, where King Harold is reputedly buried. The successful can obtain an embroidered badge and signed certificate.
