Here is his favourite circular long distance walk around the Churnet Valley, region of the Staffordshire Moorlands. Starting and ending at Oakamoor, the 24 mile walk takes in the highest and finest aspects of the area and is a grandslam of the beauty that is found there - Froghall Wharf, The Weaver Hills, Ordley Dale, Alton and Ousal Dale. The walk involves 2,000 feet of ascent and is a challenge to walk in a day.
For those who complete the route, a special four colour embroidered badge and signed certificate are available.
