The Salter's Way - an End to End Walk - follows an ancient saltway from the heart of Cheshire salt country - Norwich. The 25 1/2 miles route starts beside a canal and weaves its way across the Cheshire Plain past historical buildings and Jodrell Bank Radion Telescope to the Macclesfield Canal. Here the level section ends with the climb into the Pennines to the walks end close to the Cheshire/Derbyshire boundary at Salterford.
Allow ten to twelve hours for the circuit and the succesful can obtain a special four colour emboridered badge and signed certificate.
