Ten circular walks - 3 to 8 miles long, and one end to end walk - 14 1/2 miles - which combined explore this historic canal and its two arms - Nightingale and Pinxton - in Derbyshire. The canal now mostly disused can still be traced with bridges, tunnels and locks, with waterfilled and reedfilled sections. Like all canal walking it is a walk back in time. All the surrounding villages are explored with full history notes and ammenities guide, to make the walk an enjoyable day out exploring some of Derbyshire's finest industrial heritage.
